Test and Train Clinic with BD List 1 Judge Richard Baldwin

Ahead of the Dressage Ireland National Championships in September, Leinster Dressage will be offering the perfect weekend for preparation for horses and riders in August. On Saturday the 10th of August Leinster Dressage will hold a show at the National Sports Horse Arena. Among the judges will be Richard Baldwin. Baldwin is a List one British Dressage judge. Recently, he completed the FEI transfer up course and exam which led to him achieving FEI Level 2/3* status in March 2024.
On Sunday the 11th August Leinster will then hold a test and train clinic with Richard Baldwin. This will also take place at the National Horse Sport arena in Abbottstown. This training clinic will allow riders to perform a dressage test and then receive feedback immediately after via discussion with the judge and to work on key movements with the judges feedback.
It’s the perfect way to receive and implement feedback ahead of the national championships and to learn how to maximise marks. Richard Baldwin will test and train riders from preliminary to Grand Prix and those doing FEI Junior / Children / Pony. He has explained previously in media interviews how riders often accidentally throw away marks in tests – marks that the judges would happily be awarding if they could. This clinic will allow him to assist riders in gaining as many valuable marks as they can.
Test and Train at the NHSA Sunday 11th August. Test and Train costs €40 for 30 minutes for 2024 registered Leinster Dressage members and 55 euro for members from other regions. Time slots will be allocated closer to the event. Specific times cannot be promised – you must be available for the day.
Open to 2024 Senior and Junior Leinster Dressage members. This event is not applicable to trailblazers. In booking this subsidized training event, members agree to volunteer for a half day at one of the remaining 2024 Leinster Dressage shows. Members will be contacted to volunteer by the regions volunteer Co-ordinator.
